Factual Programming

For our first project in Creative Media Production, we were asked to create a 3-4 minute factual programme on a subject of our choosing. Me and my group did a short documentary on mental illness, focusing on mental wellbeing of NHS staff, and how society as a whole could improve awareness and treatments of mental illnesses. This was called 'Inside (Mental Health)'.

We interviewed young people in a vox-pops style, and we also interviewed psychotherapists at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Donna Butler and her colleague Victoria. It was very interesting to get a professional insight and opinion on such a serious topic, as well as the ideas of young people.

Here is my edit for 'Inside (Mental Health).

Inside (Mental Health)

My edit for 'Inside (Mental Health)' was shown at the B.Fest Youth Film Festival at Dukes at the Komedia on 3rd June 2016.

Here are some comments made by audience members about my short documentary on the B.Fest website.

Going to the B.Fest Film Festival was exciting, as I got to see great short films made by other young aspiring filmmakers, just like myself. It was also exciting to see my own short film on the big screen, which was a proud moment.
